Review: The Badass Body Diet Book

I recently purchased The Badass Body Diet Book: The Breakthrough Diet and Workout for a Tight Booty, Sexy Abs, and Lean Legs off Amazon by Christmas Abbott. I paid $11.86 for the kindle version but it’s currently $2.99. The book was only 352 pages, so it didn’t take long to read it at all. Especially, since a large part of the book is workout plans and recipes, it goes rather quickly.

I’ve been wanting to learn a little more about macros and getting a better booty, so this book was my perfect match. I had also received a recommendation from my CrossFit trainer and owner of the box I workout at.

Christmas Abbott is a CrossFit celebrity you might say. She is an incredible athlete and has a phenomenal backstory. In her book she tells you about her life and then teaches you how to eat correctly and provides in-home workout plans. She helps you select those “booty foods” to get the butt you want. So unlike most “one size fits all” books, she identifies the 3 types of dieters (Modifiers, Gainers and Maintainers) and then provides specifics for each group for maximum results. She keeps it light and fun, she’s enjoyable to read.

Out of the current 278 reviews, her book receives 3.9 out of 5 stars. Would I recommend this book? At $2.99, yes, I would. It’s nice to hear different perspectives and I like how she helps you identify what type of dieter you are and what type of workout you should be doing based off that. It’s a good place to start. It has intrigued me to read more about macros. I’m a little unsure about the bricks she suggests, it seems as though it might not be enough for an active athlete/CrossFitter. After reading the reviews, there were quite a few people who stated they started feeling depleted of energy after following her diet plan for 10-15 days. Do you have any books you love or would recommend?
